Students Rights & Responsibilities
Rationale:
The purpose of this seminar is to increase participants’ knowledge of their rights and responsibilities as a Northeastern University student.
Description:
This session should include: an overview of the Northeastern Code of Conduct, so that students have a clear understanding of the expectations of this institution. Responsibilities should be clearly outlined, including community standards. Similarly, students should examine their rights and how to utilize them. The medical amnesty policy should also be discussed. The presenter should focus on the correlations between actions and consequences, and the value of good decision making. By the end of the session, participants should have a clearer understanding of their rights and responsibilities at NU.
Learning Outcomes:
- Students attending this seminar will be able to demonstrate knowledge of their rights as students at Northeastern University.
- Students will exhibit familiarity with the expectations of Northeastern University, though utilization of the Code of Conduct and Guide to Residence Hall Living.
- Students will be able to explain the consequences for violating community standards.
