Rationale:

The purpose of this seminar is to provide students with an comprehensive understanding of the Housing Selection and Placement process, so they are able to make informed decisions about on-campus housing.

Description:

This session should include: a comprehensive overview of the Housing Selection and Placement process at Northeastern University. Students should be introduced to the basic terminology used and resources available so that they are confident in their ability to make an informed decision about housing. Once students have walked through the process, they will have the skills to complete this task independently or to assist their peers.

Learning Outcomes:

• Students attending this session will be able to recognize and define housing terminology.
• Students will be able to locate published and online resources about Housing Selection & Placement.
• Students will demonstrate use of resources by exploring housing availability online.
• Students will be able to navigate through all the steps of online housing selection independently and select an apartment/room.
• Students will be “ambassadors” of housing selection & placement knowledge.
