Professional Development

Northeastern provides many opportunities for employees to broaden their knowledge in their current roles as well as to learn new skills.  We offer a generous tuition remission program which enables employees to pursue both undergraduate and graduate degrees through our part-time evening and weekend programs.  We also offer a wide range of certificate and executive development programs.  In addition, individual units and departments sponsor participation in professional development programs.

Through the IS Training Services, a full array of technical courses is offered including Adobe training, Blackboard and Microsoft Office Suite.  HRM also offers seminars on a variety of topics throughout the year in the areas of professional and management development.

Another excellent resource are the professional development opportunities offer by The Boston Consortium.  The Consortium is a group of local universities and colleges that collaborates to develop and implement cost saving and quality improvement ideas. They offer separately and through member institutions professional development half and full-day seminars on a range of topics at a modest cost.  To explore these opportunities, visit their website at www.boston-consortium.org.
