Leaves of Absence

Leaves of absence are designed to assist faculty and staff through times when they are unable to work due to a disability, the disability of a qualified family member or the birth or adoption of a child. The Leave of Absence Policy (pdf) describes in detail the following leaves of absence:

  • Maternity/Adoption Leave
  • Family Medical Leave
  • Military Leave
  • Faculty Leave

Pay During Leaves

Leaves of absence are unpaid; however, employees may be eligible to receive pay for their leave using accrued sick time, if on an approved medical leave interim disability, if eligibility requirements have been met and on an approved medical leave accrued vacation time if available.
