Dental Plans
Northeastern provides benefits eligible faculty and staff and their eligible dependent(s) a comprehensive dental plan through Delta Dental Plan of Massachusetts. The plan, DeltaPreferred Option Plus, focuses on preventive care and provides a wide range of dental services. DeltaPreferred Option Plus combines two of Delta Dental's national dental networks-Preferred and Premier-giving you access to dentists that participate in either network.
Ninety-six percent of Massachusetts dentists are Delta Dental Participating Dentists. In addition, the plan also provides the flexibility to use out-of-network dentists or dentists located outside Massachusetts; however, use of these dentists will increase overall out-of-pocket costs and payment may be required at the time of service and it may be necessary to submit a claim form.
Dental Deductions are taken using pre-tax payroll deduction and Northeastern shares the premium cost: The university pays 70 percent and you pay 30 percent. For the rates please refer to the 2009 rates sheet (pdf) and 2010 rates sheet (pdf).
