Northeastern provides benefits eligible faculty and staff and their eligible dependent(s) with a choice of two dental plans offered through the Delta Dental Plan of Massachusetts.
This plan provides preventive and basic services with a $750 per covered member per calendar year maximum. It does not cover major restorative services or orthodontia. For a complete list of all services please refer to the Delta Dental Summary of Coverage (PDF) for the Value Plan.
The Current plan is consistent with the plan offered in 2014. It is a comprehensive plan covering preventive, basic and major restorative services with a $1,500 per member per calendar year maximum. It also includes a lifetime orthodontia benefit of $1,000 for covered dependents to age 19. Members on this plan are eligible for the Rollover Maximum benefit. For a complete list of all services please refer to the Delta Dental Summary of Coverage (PDF) for the Current Plan.
More information can be found in the Delta Dental Subscriber Handbook (PDF).
Both plans are on the Delta PPO Plus Premier platform which combines two of Delta Dental's national dental networks - PPO and Premier - giving you access to dentists that participate in either network. Delta has lower negotiated rates with PPO providers. This means that while you don’t have to seek from a PPO provider, your out-of-pocket expenses and calendar year maximum will go further if you do. To locate a dentist, please use the following resource: Delta Dental Participating Dentists. The plans also provide the flexibility to use a provider outside of either network, however, use of these dentists will increase overall out-of-pocket costs and payment may be required at the time of service and it may be necessary to submit a claim form.

Northeastern will contribute 70% of the premium for both the Value and the Current plan.
