Residential Life Bios
Rachel Alldis – Director
Rachel is thrilled serve as the Director of Residential Life at Northeastern. She joined the team in September 2013 and is excited to help the department reach its full potential as educators and administrators. Rachel received her master’s degree in College Student Personnel from Miami University in Oxford, OH (they were a school, before Florida was a state). She has a bachelor’s degree in Speech Communications from Bradley University in Peoria, IL (Go Braves!!). Rachel joined the staff at Northeastern after serving as an Assistant Director at New York University and Emerson College. She also served as a Residence Director at Syracuse University. She is happy to be here at Northeastern and to show her Husky Pride.
Brie McCormick – Associate Director
Brie joined the Northeastern Res Life team in January of 2007. In her role as Associate Director, she is responsible for Student Conduct, Facilities, assisting with the day to day management of the Department and supervision of Assistant Director(s). Brie received her bachelor’s degree in English Literature at Western New England College in Springfield, MA and her master’s degree in Higher Education from University of Connecticut. Prior to working at Northeastern University Brie served as an Area Director at Bryant University in Smithfield, RI.
Ryan Anderson – Assistant Director
Ryan made the move to Boston in December of 2013 to join the Northeastern Res Life team. In his role as Assistant Director, he is responsible for professional staff recruitment, selection and training in addition to supervising four Residence Directors and a Graduate Assistant. Ryan received both his bachelor’s degree in Finance and his master’s degree in Higher Education & Student Affairs from Indiana University. Prior to working at NU Ryan served as Assistant Director for Learning Communities and Assessment at American University in Washington, DC and as a Coordinator of Student Development at Cal Poly in San Luis Obispo, CA.
Rose Colucci – Assistant Director
Rose has made NU her home away from home so to speak, although she has lived in our residence halls or served as the “live on” Residential Life Administrator for most of her professional career at Northeastern. Rose received her bachelor’s degree in Physical Education from Northeastern and taught Elementary Physical Education in the Newton (MA) public school system for two years. She decided to obtain a master’s degree in Adaptive Physical Education from Northeastern and returned as a Residence Director to pursue this academic path. After completing her master’s degree in Adaptive Physical Education, she decided that Higher Education was her “true calling” and obtained a master’s degree in Counseling Psychology. Rose has either directly managed or overseen the management of every residence hall at Northeastern to date. Currently, as an Assistant Director for Residential Life, Rose supervises four Residence Directors and one Graduate Assistant. Her major focus area is Resident Assistant Selection, Training, and Development.
Kara Curcio – Assistant Director
Kara joined the Northeastern Res Life team in October of 2011. In her role as Assistant Director, she oversees the Living Learning Community Program, First Year Experience, Academic Initiatives as well as work with the Faculty in Residence program. Kara oversees the International Village, Smith and Kennedy buildings, Stetson East and Light housing freshman, second year students and upperclassman. Kara earned her bachelor’s degree in Psychology from the University of Pittsburgh and her master’s degree in Student Affairs in Higher Education from Indiana University of Pennsylvania. Prior to working at Northeastern University Kara served in various roles at Cal Poly – San Luis Obispo, The University of Arizona and Brandeis University.
David Grimes - Assistant Director
David joined the Northeastern Res Life team in January 2015. In his role as Assistant Director, he is responsible for RA staff recruitment, selection and training as well as leadership development for the residence hall staff and advising RSA and NRHH. In addition, he also supervises four Residence Directors and a Graduate Assistant. David received both his Bachelor’s degree in English and his Master’s degree in Educational Administration and Policy Studies with a concentration in Higher Education from the University at Albany, SUNY. Prior to working at NU, David served as a Residence Director at both Syracuse University in Syracuse, New York and at St. John Fisher College in Rochester, New York.
Danielle Vitullo – Administrative Assistant
Danielle joined the Northeastern Res Life team in November of 2013. Danielle received her Bachelor’s degree in Music (vocal performance) and Business Administration from Ithaca College. Prior to working at Northeastern University Danielle served as the Property Management Assistant at EDENS, Inc., a large retail real estate firm in Boston. In addition to her role at Northeastern she also volunteers as the Director of Operations for The Boston New Music Initiative, a 501(c)(3) organization specializing in modern chamber music.
Christina Alch – Residence Director
Christina joined the department in July 2013. Christina currently serves as the Residence Director for Willis Hall, a building of mostly second-year students. In the spring, Christina will open our newest residence hall, East Village. Christina also advises our Resident Student Association, which she is extremely passionate about. Christina received her bachelor’s degree in History from SUNY New Paltz and her master’s degree in Higher Education from Salem State University. Prior to working at Northeastern, Christina served as a Community Director at the University of Maryland, Baltimore County.
Corey Allen – Residence Director
Corey joined the Residential Life team in July 2014. He is the Residence Director for Burstein, Rubenstein, and 407 Huntington Ave. In this role, Corey sits on the Resident Assistant Training/Selection Committee and First-Year Experience Committee. He earned his bachelor’s degree from Suffolk University in Psychology and his master’s degree from Northeastern in College Student Development & Counseling. Before he came to Northeastern, Corey worked at Emmanuel College for his assistantship, and Wentworth Institute of Technology for his practicum.
Noah Baum – Residence Director
After completing his degree at Northeastern University, Noah started his career as a Residence Director. He currently oversees West Village B/C/E which is an upper-class apartment style living environment. Noah also has experience working in most of the residence halls on campus.
Andrew Bradley - Residence Director
Andrew joined the Northeastern Residence Life team in October 2014. Andrew currently oversees the daily operations of Willis Hall, an upperclassmen hall that houses approximately 350 residents. Andrew is originally from Michigan and received his Bachelors Degree in Sociology from Michigan State University and his Masters Degree in College Student Affairs Leadership from Grand Valley State University. Andrew has worked at various institutions across the country and is excited to be out here on the east coast!
Lara Ceylan - Residence Director
Lara joined the Northeastern Residential Life team in 2014. In her role as Residence Director she is responsible for the daily management of Speare Hall, a traditional style hall housing 404 first-year students and 11 Resident Assistants. Lara received her BA in Economics from Skidmore College and her MA in Higher Education Administration from Boston College. Prior to working at Northeastern, Lara worked as a Graduate Assistant in Residential Life at Boston College.
Curtis Creekmore – Residence Director
Curtis joined the Northeastern team in July of 2011. He has worked in the same complex for his tenure, varying from six to 10 buildings of first-year through graduate students, supervising from nine to 14 RAs. Currently, his area consists of approximately 550 students, ranging from second-year to upperclass students. Curtis received his Bachelor of Arts in French and his Master of Education in College Student Personnel from the University of Louisville. Before coming to NU, Curtis worked for a year as an RD at the Savannah College of Art and Design.
Kevin Dillon – Residence Director
Kevin joined the Northeastern Res Life team in July of 2011. In his role as a Residence Director, he is responsible for Melvin, 144, 153, Loftman and Kerr, or the M1LK complex. Kevin received a Bachelor of Arts degree in history from Long Island University, Post and his master’s degree in College Student Personnel from Bowling Green State University. Prior to working at Northeastern University Kevin attended graduate school at Bowling Green State University, and before that worked as a full time Residence Director at SUNY Oneonta.
Alanna Gaffny – Residence Director
Alanna joined the Northeastern Res Life team in July of 2014. In her role as a Residence Director, Alanna oversees Stetson West which houses around 540 first-year students. Alanna received both her bachelor’s degree in History/Art History and master’s degree in Higher Education Administration at the University of Massachusetts Lowell. Prior to working at Northeastern, Alanna worked as an Interim Resident Director at the University of Massachusetts.
Krista Hendrickson – Residence Director
Krista Hendrickson is the Residence Director for White Hall. She joined Northeastern in July, 2014 after graduating with a Masters in Higher Education from the University of South Florida. Krista is passionate about working with first year students and assisting in their transition to life at Northeastern.
Matthew Huard - Residence Director
Matt joined the Northeastern Residence Life team in October of 2014. In his role as a Residence Director, Matt oversees West Village C & F which houses around 450 second-year honors students. Matt received his master’s degree in Counseling Psychology and his bachelor’s degree in Christian Studies, both from California Baptist University. Prior to working at Northeastern, Matt worked as a Residence Director at Grand Canyon University in Phoenix, Arizona and as an Assistant Residence Director at California Baptist University in Riverside, California.
Armina Khwaja – Residence Director
Armina joined the Northeastern team in July of 2014. She serves as one of two Residence Directors in International Village, overseeing first-year Honors and upper-class students. Prior to arriving at Northeastern, Armina worked in Residence Life at Texas A&M University where she also received her master’s in higher education administration. Before that, Armina worked in Communications and Marketing at Georgia Tech after receiving her bachelor’s in business administration with focuses in human capital and marketing.
Katie Kidwell - Residence Director
Katie joined the Northeastern team in October of 2014. She is the Residence Director for Burstein, Rubenstein, and 407 Huntington Ave, an upperclass complex that houses over 300 students. In this role, Katie sits on the Resident Assistant Recruitment, Selection, & Training Committee and the nuEXCHANGE Diversity Committee. She graduated with honors from the University of Nebraska-Lincoln, earning a bachelor’s degree in history, English, and film studies. She then earned her master’s in Higher Education & Student Affairs from the University of Iowa. Before coming to NU, Katie worked for a year in college admissions.
Patrick Lesswing- Residence Director
Patrick joined Northeastern’s Residential Life team in June 2011. In his time here he has been the Residence Director for West Village B, C, and F, and is currently one of two RDs in International Village. He earned his Bachelor of Arts in Human Development from the State University of New York at Oswego and his Master’s of Science in College Student Personnel Administration from Canisius College in Buffalo, NY. Prior to coming to Northeastern he was also a Residence Director at Alfred State College in Western New York.
Emily Johnson O’Brien – Residence Director
Emily started as a Residence Director at Northeastern in May 2011 and has worked primarily within the First-Year area on-campus. In this role she has sat on the Resident Assistant Training Committee and First-Year Experience Committee. She earned her bachelor’s degree from Gordon College in English Language & Literature and her master’s degree from Northeastern in College Student Development & Counseling. Before she came to Northeastern, Emily worked as a Graduate Assistant at Emmanuel College in their Residence Life department and did her practicum work at Gordon College developing a First-Year Experience program.
Ryan Pinette – Residence Director
Ryan joined the Northeastern Res Life team in July of 2013. In his role as a Residence Director, Ryan oversees Stetson East and Light Hall which house around 350 first-year students. Ryan received his bachelor’s degree in Communication from Merrimack College and his master’s degree in Higher Education Administration from the University of Louisville. Prior to working at Northeastern, Ryan worked as a Graduate Residence Director at the University of Louisville and as an Assistant Residence Director at Berklee College of Music.
Paris Sanders – Residence Director
Paris is currently the Residence Director of Northeastern’s Leased Properties, which house 300+ students. She gained a Bachelor of Fine Art in Visual Communication with a concentration in Graphic Design along with a Masters of Education in Arts and Learning from Endicott College.
Tamu Schwoeffermann – Residence Director
Tamu joined the Northeastern Res Life team in 2005 as a Resident Assistant pursuing his bachelor’s degree in International Affairs. Upon graduation, he became the assistant to NU’s Associate Dean of Cultural, Residential and Spiritual Life and Res Life’s Administrative Assistant. He started as an RD in August 2013 and is now responsible for four buildings along Columbus Avenue with primarily second-year populations. He is also involved in RA Training & Sophomore Year Experience development within the Department, while earning an MBA at Northeastern.
Cynthia D. Walker – Residence Director
Cynthia joined the Northeastern Residential Life team in 2002. She is responsible for the daily management of the community in her assigned area (currently Douglass Park and Davenport B). Cynthia received her Bachelor of Science in Communication Studies with a specialization in television broadcast from Clarion University of Pennsylvania in 2002. She earned her Master of Science in Leadership with a specialization in Higher Education Administration and a focus on Learning Styles and Multiple Intelligences from Northeastern University in 2006.
David Draper – Graduate Assistant
David joined the Res Life team in July of 2014 as a Graduate Assistant, focusing primarily on Student Conduct. David is originally from Dover, NH and recently graduated with his B.A. in Psychology from Keene State College in New Hampshire. While attending Keene State College David was a Resident Assistant for two years, and in that time fell in love with the world of Student Affairs. David will be graduating from Northeastern with his Master's of Science in College Student Development and Counseling in May of 2016.
Sam Ghika – Graduate Assistant
Sam joined the Northeastern Residential Life team in July of 2014 as a Graduate Assistant with a functional area of First Year Experience and Living Learning Communities (LLC's). Sam will also be in Smith and Kennedy Hall working closely with the RA Staff for this year. Prior to coming to Northeastern, Sam earned her Bachelor's Degree in Sociology at Framingham State University and graduated in May of 2014. She was an RA for three years/ARA for two years which sparked her interest in the field of Higher Education and Student Affairs. She will be graduating with her Master's in College Student Development and Counseling in May 2016 and is excited for all things Northeastern!
Rea Kyani – Graduate Assistant
After earning her bachelor’s degree in Finance, Management, and Marketing from Florida State University, Rea joined the Northeastern ResLife team in July of 2013. During her first year she worked as a Graduate Assistant focusing on Resident Assistant Training & Development and served as an Interim Residence Director for West Villages F, G, and H. For the new academic year, Rea will continue to work as Graduate Assistant now focusing on Resident Assistant Selection as well as Training and Development, and expects to earn her Masters of Science in College Student Development and Counseling in May of 2015.
Katie Mello – Graduate Assistant
Katie joined the Residential Life team in July 2013 as a Graduate Assistant in Residence Life, primarily focusing on Living Learning Initiatives and further developing the SYE program. For the Fall 2014 semester she will be serving as an interim Residence Director in Speare Hall before returning to her current role as the Graduate Assistant for SYE and diversity initiatives. She earned her bachelor’s degree in English with a concentration in Literature from Western New England University in Springfield, MA. She will be graduating from Northeastern with her Masters of Science in College Student Development and Counseling in May of 2015.
Casey Riedeman – Graduate Assistant
Casey joined the Res Life team in July 2013, right after graduating with her bachelor’s degree from St. Martin’s University in Lacey, Washington. She currently serves as the Grad for Professional Staff Selection, Training and Development as well as for Second Year Experience Program and Diversity initiatives. She has also served as an interim Residence Director in first-year and upper-class areas as well as being the Graduate Assistant for professional and student staff selection. Casey will be graduating from Northeastern with her Masters of Science in College Student Development and Counseling in May of 2015.
Allison Shaprio-Davis – Graduate Assistant
Allison Shapiro-Davis is a Graduate Assistant for Northeastern Residence Life, focusing on leadership and the Upperclass Experience Program. Allison attended St. Mary’s College of Maryland for her undergraduate degree and she is currently getting her master’s degree here at Northeastern. Prior to being at Northeastern University she worked for the Maryland Energy Administration.
