Rachel Alldis – Director

Rachel is thrilled serve as the Director of Residential Life at Northeastern.  She joined the team in September 2013 and is excited to help the department reach its full potential as educators and administrators.  Rachel received her master’s degree in College Student Personnel from Miami University in Oxford, OH (they were a school, before Florida was a state).  She has a bachelor’s degree in Speech Communications from Bradley University in Peoria, IL (Go Braves!!).  Rachel joined the staff at Northeastern after serving as an Assistant Director at New York University and Emerson College.  She also served as a Residence Director at Syracuse University.  She is happy to be her at Northeastern and to show her Husky Pride.

 

Brie McCormick – Associate Director

Brie joined the Northeastern Res Life team in January of 2007. In her role as Associate Director, she is responsible for Student Conduct, assisting with the day to day management of the Department and supervision of Assistant Director(s). Brie received her bachelor’s degree in English Literature at Western New England College in Springfield, MA and her master’s degree in Higher Education from University of Connecticut. Prior to working at Northeastern University Brie served as an Area Director at Bryant University in Smithfield, RI

 

Rose Colucci – Assistant Director

Rose has made NU her home away from home so to speak, although she has lived in our residence halls or served as the “live on” Residential Life Administrator for most of her professional career at Northeastern.  Rose received her bachelor’s degree in Physical Education from Northeastern and taught Elementary Physical Education in the Newton (MA) public school system for two years.  She decided to obtain a master’s degree in Adaptive Physical Education from Northeastern and returned as a Residence Director to pursue this academic path. After completing her master’s degree in Adaptive Physical Education, she decided that Higher Education was her “true calling” and obtained a master’s degree in Counseling Psychology. Rose has either directly managed or overseen the management of every residence hall at Northeastern to date.  Currently, as an Assistant Director for Residential Life, Rose supervises five Residence Directors and one full time Facilities Coordinator.  Her major focus area is Facilities where she is the liaison for Residential Life to Northeastern University’s Physical Plant.

 

Kara Curcio – Assistant Director

Kara joined the Northeastern Res Life team in October of 2011. In her role as Assistant Director, she oversees the Living Learning Community, First Year Experience and Second Year Experience programs as well as work with the Faculty in Residence program. Kara oversees the International Village and Smith and Kennedy buildings housing freshman, second year students and upperclassman. Kara earned her bachelor’s degree in Psychology from the University of Pittsburgh and her master’s degree in Student Affairs in Higher Education from Indiana University of Pennsylvania. Prior to working at Northeastern University Kara served in various roles at Cal Poly – San Luis Obispo, The University of Arizona and Brandeis University.

 

Ryan Anderson – Assistant Director

Ryan made the move to Boston in December of 2013 to join the Northeastern Res Life team. In his role as Assistant Director, he is responsible for professional staff and student staff recruitment and selection in addition to supervising three Residence Directors in West Villages A, B, C & E plus the SSS & Huntington areas. Ryan received both his bachelor’s degree in Finance and his master’s degree in Higher Education & Student Affairs from Indiana University. Prior to working at NU Ryan served as Assistant Director for Learning Communities and Assessment at American University in Washington, DC and as a Coordinator of Student Development at Cal Poly in San Luis Obispo, CA.

 

Dr. Chong Sun Kim-Wong – Assistant Director

Dr. Kim-Wong first began as a Residence Director at Northeastern University in July of 2007.  She had various roles at Northeastern before joining the Residential Life team again as an Assistant Director in 2013.  In her current role, she is responsible for global and diversity education, oversees assessment initiatives for the department, advises the Resident Student Association (RSA), and supervises five Residence Directors in the first-year areas.  Dr. Kim-Wong received both her bachelor’s degree in Secondary Education and her master’s degree in Higher Education from the University of Vermont.  She also completed a second master’s degree in Business Administration and received her Doctorate of Education from Northeastern University.   

 

Danielle Vitullo – Administrative Assistant

Danielle joined the Northeastern Res Life team in November of 2013. Danielle received her Bachelor’s degree in Music (vocal performance) and Business Administration from Ithaca College.  Prior to working at Northeastern University Danielle served as the Property Management Assistant at EDENS, Inc., a large retail real estate firm in Boston.  In addition to her role at Northeastern she also volunteers as the Director of Operations for The Boston New Music Initiative, a 501(c)(3) organization specializing in modern chamber music.

 

 

Christina Alch – Residence Director

Christina joined the department in July 2013. As a Residence Director for the M1LK complex, she oversees three buildings of first-year students, one building of second-year students, and one building of upperclass students. Christina received her bachelor’s degree in History from SUNY New Paltz and her master’s degree in Higher Education from Salem State University. Prior to working at Northeastern, Christina served as a Community Director at the University of Maryland, Baltimore County.

 

Curtis Creekmore – Residence Director

Curtis joined the Northeastern team in July of 2011. He has worked in the same complex for his tenure, varying from six to 10 buildings of first-year through graduate students, supervising from nine to 14 RAs. Currently, his area consists of approximately 450 students, ranging from second-year to upperclass students. Curtis received his Bachelor of Arts in French and his Master of Education in College Student Personnel from the University of Louisville. Before coming to NU, Curtis worked for a year as an RD at the Savannah College of Art and Design.

 

Cynthia D. Walker – Residence Director

Cynthia joined the Northeastern Residential Life team in 2002.  She is responsible for the daily management of the community in her assigned area (currently Douglass Park and Davenport B).   Cynthia received her Bachelor of Science in Communication Studies with a specialization in television broadcast from Clarion University of Pennsylvania in 2002.   She earned her Master of Science in Leadership with a specialization in Higher Education Administration and a focus on Learning Styles and Multiple Intelligences from Northeastern University in 2006.    

 

Topher Nelson – Residence Director

Topher started working full-time with the Res Life team in 2009 after being an RA and SRA in his undergrad years. Now he’s a Residence Director working in West Village F, G and H. Before that he worked as the Facilities Specialist in the department. Topher received a BA in Economics and an MEd. in Higher Education Administration from Northeastern and is currently working on an MS of Commerce and Economic Development.

 

Emily Johnson O’Brien – Residence Director

Emily started as a Residence Director at Northeastern in May 2011 and has worked primarily within the First-Year area on-campus.  In this role she has sat on the Resident Assistant Training Committee and First-Year Experience Committee.  She earned her bachelor’s degree from Gordon College in English Language & Literature and her master’s degree from Northeastern in College Student Development & Counseling.  Before she came to Northeastern, Emily worked as a Graduate Assistant at Emmanuel College in their Residence Life department and did her practicum work at Gordon College developing a First-Year Experience program.    

 

James Frier – Residence Director

James started working at Northeastern University in July 2011. He has served as the Residence Director for Stetson West, M1LK, and West Village A and currently serves in a fellowship for EMSA. James has participated on a variety of departmental and division-wide committees including selection, first year experience, academic initiatives, social media/technology, and training and advises NRHH and Sigma Phi Epsilon. James has a bachelor’s degree from St. John’s in Education/English, a master’s from NYU in counseling, and is currently completing an MBA at Northeastern. James is a member of Alpha Phi Alpha Fraternity, Incorporated and a proud native New Yorker.

 

Jenna Magnuski – Residence Director

Jenna began at Northeastern University as the Residence Director for White Hall in September 2010.  She grew there for two years, working with first-year students in the criminal justice, community service, undeclared and Global Frontiers living-learning communities.  For the last two years, Jenna has worked with first-year Honors students and upperclass students alike in International Village, which she has manages in connection with another RD.  Prior to working at Northeastern, Jenna worked in Housing and Dining Services at Carnegie Mellon University.  Her bachelor’s degree in History is from Framingham State University focused on American, women’s, and religious perspectives.  Her master’s degree from Indiana University of Pennsylvania is in Student Affairs in Higher Education.

 

Danielle DeCuir – Residence Director

Danielle joined the Northeastern team in 2010 as a Residence Director after completing her M.S. in Counseling and Student Development at Kansas State University.  Danielle is passionate about leadership, advising, and graduate student and new professional development.  During her free time, Danielle enjoys shopping, traveling and hanging out with her amazing friends.

 

Kevin Dillon – Residence Director

Kevin joined the Northeastern Res Life team in July of 2011. In his role as a Residence Director, he is responsible for Speare Hall, and is overseeing our Leased Properties as well. Kevin received a Bachelor of Arts degree in history from Long Island University, Post and his master’s degree in College Student Personnel from Bowling Green State University . Prior to working at Northeastern University Kevin attended graduate school at Bowling Green State University, and before that worked as a full time Residence Director at SUNY Oneonta.

 

Noah Baum – Residence Director

After completing his degree at Northeastern University, Noah started his career as a Residence Director.  He currently oversees West Village B/C/E which is an upper-class apartment style living environment. Noah also has experience working in most of the residence halls on campus. 

 

Paris Sanders – Residence Director

Paris joined the Northeastern University Department of Residential Life staff in July of 2009. Paris is currently the Residence Director of White Hall, which is a 300+ first year residence hall. She gained a Bachelor of Fine Art in Visual Communication with a concentration in Graphic Design along with a Masters of Education in Arts and Learning from Endicott College.

 

Patrick Lesswing- Residence Director

Patrick joined Northeastern’s Residential Life team in June 2011. In his time here he has been the Residence Director for West Village B, C, and F, and is currently one of two RDs in International Village. He earned his Bachelor of Arts in Human Development from the State University of New York at Oswego and his Master’s of Science in College Student Personnel Administration from Canisius College in Buffalo, NY. Prior to coming to Northeastern he was also a Residence Director at Alfred State College in Western New York.

 

Ryan Pinette – Residence Director

Ryan joined the Northeastern Res Life team in July of 2013. In his role as a Residence Director, Ryan oversees Stetson East and Light Hall which house around 350 first-year students. Ryan received his bachelor’s degree in Communication from Merrimack College and is finishing his master’s degree in Higher Education Administration at the University of Louisville. Prior to working at Northeastern, Ryan worked as a Graduate Residence Director at the University of Louisville and as an Assistant Residence Director at Berklee College of Music.

 

Tamu Schwoeffermann – Residence Director

Tamu joined the Northeastern Res Life team in 2005 as a Resident Assistant pursuing his bachelor’s degree in International Affairs.  Upon graduation, he became the assistant to NU’s Associate Dean of Cultural, Residential and Spiritual Life and Res Life’s Administrative Assistant.  He started as an RD in August 2013 and is now responsible for four buildings along Columbus Avenue with primarily second-year populations. He is also involved in RA selection, diversity work within the Department and is earning an MBA at Northeastern.

 

Rea Kyani – Graduate Assistant

Rea came on board in July 2013 as a Graduate Assistant in Residence Life, primarily focusing on Resident Assistant training and development. She earned her bachelor’s degree in Finance, Management, and Marketing from Florida State University and seeks to offer her acquired business knowledge to the student affairs table.

 

Katie Mello – Graduate Assistant

Katie is a Graduate Assistant for Living Learning Initiatives and an Interim Residence Director for West Villages B, C, and E. As a Graduate Assistant her main responsibility is to assist with the development and implementation of the Second Year Experience program. She began working at Northeastern University in July of 2013 after receiving her B.A from Western New England University in Springfield, MA.

 

Casey Riedeman – Graduate Assistant

Originally from Seattle, Casey began working at Northeastern in July 2013 right after graduating with her bachelor’s degree from St. Martin’s University in Lacey, Washington. During her time at her small, private undergrad she fell in love with all things Student Affairs and is  loving her time developing professionally as a Husky. She has served as an interim Residence Director in first-year areas as well as being the Graduate Assistant for professional and student staff selection. She will be graduating from Northeastern with her Masters of Science in College Student Development and Counseling in May of 2015.


Allison Shaprio-Davis – Graduate Assistant

Allison Shapiro-Davis is a Graduate Assistant for Northeastern Residence Life, focusing on Student Conduct.  Allison attended St. Mary’s College of Maryland for her undergraduate degree and she is currently getting her master’s degree here at Northeastern.  Prior to being at Northeastern University she worked for the Maryland Energy Administration.
