Brie McCormick

Director
Brie joined the Northeastern Res Life team in January of 2007. Brie received her bachelor’s degree in English Literature at Western New England College in Springfield, MA and her master’s degree in Higher Education from University of Connecticut. Prior to working at Northeastern University Brie served as an Area Director at Bryant University in Smithfield, RI.

Ryan Anderson

Assistant Director
Ryan made the move to Boston in December of 2013 to join the Northeastern Res Life team. In his role as Assistant Director, he is responsible for professional staff recruitment, selection and training in addition to supervising four Residence Directors and a Graduate Assistant. Ryan received both his bachelor’s degree in Finance and his master’s degree in Higher Education & Student Affairs from Indiana University. Prior to working at NU Ryan served as Assistant Director for Learning Communities and Assessment at American University in Washington, DC and as a Coordinator of Student Development at Cal Poly in San Luis Obispo, CA.

Rose Colucci

Assistant Director
Rose has made NU her home away from home so to speak, although she has lived in our residence halls or served as the “live on” Residential Life Administrator for most of her professional career at Northeastern.  Rose received her bachelor’s degree in Physical Education from Northeastern and taught Elementary Physical Education in the Newton (MA) public school system for two years.  She decided to obtain a master’s degree in Adaptive Physical Education from Northeastern and returned as a Residence Director to pursue this academic path. After completing her master’s degree in Adaptive Physical Education, she decided that Higher Education was her “true calling” and obtained a master’s degree in Counseling Psychology. Rose has either directly managed or overseen the management of every residence hall at Northeastern to date.  Currently, as an Assistant Director for Residential Life, Rose supervises four Residence Directors and one Graduate Assistant.  Her major focus area is Second-Year Experience and Upperclass programming.

Kara Curcio

Assistant Director
Kara joined the Northeastern Res Life team in October of 2011. In her role as Assistant Director, she oversees the Living Learning Community Program, First Year Experience, Academic Initiatives as well as work with the Faculty in Residence program. Kara oversees the International Village, Smith and Kennedy buildings, Stetson East and Light housing freshman, second year students and upperclassman. Kara earned her bachelor’s degree in Psychology from the University of Pittsburgh and her master’s degree in Student Affairs in Higher Education from Indiana University of Pennsylvania. Prior to working at Northeastern University Kara served in various roles at Cal Poly – San Luis Obispo, The University of Arizona and Brandeis University.

David Grimes

Assistant Director
David joined the Northeastern Res Life team in January 2015.  In his role as Assistant Director, he is responsible for RA staff recruitment, selection and training as well as leadership development for the residence hall staff and advising RSA and NRHH.  In addition, he also supervises four Residence Directors and a Graduate Assistant.  David received both his Bachelor’s degree in English and his Master’s degree in Educational Administration and Policy Studies with a concentration in Higher Education from the University at Albany, SUNY.  Prior to working at NU, David served as a Residence Director at both Syracuse University in Syracuse, New York and at St. John Fisher College in Rochester, New York.

Jason Kistler

Assistant Director
Jason joined the Northeastern team in June of 2015.  In his role as Assistant Director Jason is responsible for student conduct, the NUexchange Cultural Inclusion Committee and various residence halls. Jason earned his bachelor’s degree in Sociology from Taylor University in Upland, Indiana and his master’s degree in Higher Education Administration from Vanderbilt University in Nashville, TN.  Prior to coming to Northeastern Jason worked in Residence Life at Belmont University and the University of Miami in Coral Gables, Florida.

Christina Alch

Residence Director
Christina joined the department in July 2013. Christina currently serves as the Residence Director for East Village, our newest residence hall. While at Northeastern, she has previously worked in the M1LK complex and Willis Hall. Christina also advises our Resident Student Association and National Residence Hall Honorary, which she is extremely passionate about. Christina received her bachelor’s degree in History from SUNY New Paltz and her master’s degree in Higher Education in Student Affairs from Salem State University. Prior to working at Northeastern, Christina served as a Community Director at the University of Maryland, Baltimore County.

After completing his degree at Northeastern University, Noah started his career as a Residence Director. He currently oversees West Village B/C/E which is an upper-class apartment style living environment. Noah also has experience working in most of the residence halls on campus.

Andrew Bradley

Residence Director
Andrew joined the Northeastern Residence Life team in October 2014. Andrew currently oversees the daily operations of Willis Hall, an upperclassmen hall that houses approximately 350 residents. Andrew is originally from Michigan and received his Bachelors Degree in Sociology from Michigan State University and his Masters Degree in College Student Affairs Leadership from Grand Valley State University. Andrew has worked at various institutions across the country and is excited to be out here on the east coast!

Lara Ceylan

Residence Director
Lara joined the Northeastern Residential Life team in 2014. In her role as Residence Director she is responsible for the daily management of Speare Hall, a traditional style hall housing 404 first-year students and 11 Resident Assistants. Lara received her BA in Economics from Skidmore College and her MA in Higher Education Administration from Boston College. Prior to working at Northeastern, Lara worked as a Graduate Assistant in Residential Life at Boston College.

Nick joined the Northeastern team in March of 2015. He serves as the Residence Director for Stetson East and Light Halls. Prior to Northeastern, Nick worked in first-year programming at the University of South Florida. He graduated from Loyola University Maryland, where he received his B.A. in Fine Arts with a concentration in Studio Art. Additionally, Nick earned his M.Ed.in Student Development Administration from Seattle University.

Kevin joined the Northeastern Residential Life team in July of 2011. In his role as a Residence Director, he is responsible for Melvin, 144, 153, Loftman, 84 Fenway and Kerr, or the M1LK complex. Kevin received a Bachelor of Arts degree in history from Long Island University, Post and his master’s degree in College Student Personnel from Bowling Green State University. Prior to working at Northeastern University Kevin attended graduate school at Bowling Green State University, and before that worked as a full time Residence Director at SUNY Oneonta.

Alanna joined the Northeastern Res Life team in July of 2014. In her role as a Residence Director, Alanna oversees the Davenport A, 768/780 Columbus and 10 Coventry communities. Alanna received both her bachelor’s degree in History/Art History and master’s degree in Higher Education Administration at the University of Massachusetts Lowell. She joined Northeastern in July, 2014 after graduating with a Masters in Higher Education from the University of South Florida. Krista is passionate about working with first year students and assisting in their transition to life at Northeastern.

Emily Johnson O’Brien

Residence Director
Emily started as a Residence Director at Northeastern in May 2011 and has worked primarily within the First-Year area on-campus. In this role she has sat on the Resident Assistant Training Committee and First-Year Experience Committee. She earned her bachelor’s degree from Gordon College in English Language & Literature and her master’s degree from Northeastern in College Student Development & Counseling. Before she came to Northeastern, Emily worked as a Graduate Assistant at Emmanuel College in their Residence Life department and did her practicum work at Gordon College developing a First-Year Experience program.

BJ Minter Jr.

Graduate Assistant
Bernard joined the Residential Life team in July of 2015 as a Graduate Assistant. Prior to coming to Northeastern, in May of 2015 Bernard got his Bachelor of Science in Organizational Communication with a minor in Leadership Studies from Methodist University located in Fayetteville, North Carolina. He has three years of resident assistant experience and held several leadership roles on his undergraduate campus. Bernard also played four years of collegiate football. He was a three time first team all-conference defensive lineman. He is studying Project Management in the College of Professional Studies and will graduate in May of 2017. Bernard is very excited to be here at Northeastern. He hopes to better his future, further his education, and enjoy what Northeastern has to offer.

Administrative Assistant
Danielle joined Northeastern University’s Residential Life team in April of 2016.  In her role as Administrative Assistant, she is responsible for managing the department’s budget, and oversees administrative duties for the department’s director, staff, and students.  Danielle earned her Master’s degree in Applied Sociology from the University of Massachusetts at Boston, her Bachelor’s degree in Sociology from Simmons College in Boston, Massachusetts, and an Associate’s degree in Business Management from Newbury College in Brookline, Massachusetts.  Prior to working at Northeastern, Danielle taught General Education and Special Education to students in grades K-12 in Northeast Ohio.

Sam Ghika

Assistant Residence Director
Sam joined the Northeastern Residential Life team in July of 2014 as the Assistant Residence Director. While at Northeastern, Sam has previously worked as a Graduate Assistant within Residential Life and her functional area was First Year Experience/Living Learning Communities. She also worked in Smith Hall and Kennedy Hall, which consist of two first year residential populations. Prior to coming to Northeastern, Sam graduated with Honors from Framingham State University and earned her Bachelor’s Degree in Sociology, as well as minored in Psychology and Diversity Studies. Sam is currently enrolled in Northeastern’s College Student Development and Counseling Program and will be obtaining her Master’s Degree in May of 2016.
