Bouvé Health Sciences
Whether you are thinking about Physical Therapy, Occupational Therapy, or the difference between the two, the Bouvé LLC is a great opportunity to expose yourself to the Health Sciences. You will participate in programs that challenge your preconceptions and develop your leadership skills. You will also be expected to contribute to the learning atmosphere and participate in projects and activities.
Corporate Explorers (College of Business Administration)
You know you want to work in business. But will it be on Wall Street or Main Street? The Corporate Explorers is designed to help you explore career possibilities by participating in programs that will expand your knowledge of business industries and functions.
Emerging Leaders (College of Business Administration)
You have always known you are a leader—or maybe you are, and you have never known it! If you are interested in developing your leadership skills in a dynamic environment, then the Leadership LLC is definitely for you. Working with talented Resident Assistants and Peer Mentors, you will participate in the LEAD360 Emerging Leaders seminar, in-hall activities, and community service events. These experiences will allow you to explore, reflect, and develop your personal leadership skills
Computer and Information Science (College of Computer and Info Science)
You have been on the cutting edge since you could walk, getting your first iPhone at age 4. Okay, maybe not that early, but you have always been ahead of the curve technologically. Now it’s time to surround yourself with people that are just as enthusiastic as you are. Designed for both first-year and upperclass students, the CCIS LLC will offer you the chance to explore the nuances of many areas—from Information Systems to semiconductor capabilities. Programs and events along the way will help you chart your course.
Connections
Still a male-dominated field, it can be intimidating to break into Engineering as a woman. Connections is designed for women enrolled in the College of Engineering during their first year of study. You will participate in programs and workshops with faculty and staff while being supported in your academic goals. This floor is located within a co-ed building.
Criminal Justice
You know you want to be in law enforcement. But will you be a cop, a prosecutor, a federal agent, or a forensic specialist? You will get the chance to figure it out in the Criminal Justice LLC. Designed for first-year students, you will be enrolled in the same classes as your neighbors, participate in programs focused on criminal justice, and interact outside of the classroom with faculty and staff from the college.
Engineering
Can’t decide between Structural Engineering or Chemical Engineering? Or maybe Electrical caught your eye? Explore them with your peers. You will find a supportive floor where you can take part in study groups, programs, and workshops that enrich your overall experience.
Honors
If you are a student enrolled in the Honors Program, you may elect to live with other Honors students. You will participate in programs from ice cream welcomes to lectures with distinguished professors, all while enjoying a tight-knit community of your peers. There is also an upper-class option in this community.
International
Northeastern is home to a large population of students from all over the world. If you are an international student, you will have the chance to meet people from literally everywhere in the International LLC. And with our globe becoming smaller and smaller, your neighbor might become your best friend—even if she lives 6,000 miles away.
Undecided
Picking a major can be the most daunting task you have faced yet—and at a place like Northeastern, that prepares you so well for a career, it makes sense if you feel some pressure. Don’t worry! The Undeclared residential program is designed for first-year students who have not yet selected a major. You will enjoy a supportive environment as you participate in programs and activities that encourage leadership and involvement. Every Wednesday at the beginning of the year, a different major is showcased in your residence hall, so you will know your options way before it’s too late.
Leadership
This community is aimed at first-year students who want to develop strong leadership skills so they are better able to serve and lead on the campus and in the community. These students participate in the Leadership Education Growth Opportunities (LEAD360) program and work closely with staff members and student leaders.
Multiculturalism in Action
If you love to learn about the differences between Cuban and Dominican food, or want to relive the strength we witnessed as the Civil Rights Act was passed, then MIA is just the place for you. The Multiculturalism in Action LLC will be a place where you can reside with others who seek a welcoming environment. You will live and learn together through dialogues about a variety of social and cultural issues. You will gain additional perspectives on issues like race, class, culture, religion, gender, sexuality and ability through programs, visits from distinguished professors, and group activities. If you choose the MIA LLC, you should be committed to participating in a community that promotes upholding human dignity for all underrepresented populations.
Wellness
Whether you faithfully practice a Vegan diet, or Yoga helps calm your nerves and focus your energy, the Wellness LLC will surround you with people with the same values. The Wellness LLC is a place for students that are interested in a community that promotes wellness and wellness activities. There are many dimensions of wellness—so why not find the ones that are right for you?
Community Service
In high school, you were always the first one to think of the environment, or to think of those less privileged. In the Community Service LLC, you’ll be surrounded by people who feel the same way.
The Community Service LLC brings together excited and motivated students, ready to engage in the surrounding Greater Boston community. The Community Service LLC is comprised of two main components. During the Fall semester, you will participate in a series of service projects focusing on a variety of social issues and community needs. As part of your service, you’ll discuss your experiences during monthly reflection meetings. Building from your first semester service experience, you and your peers will come together second semester to devise a service project of your own. This is an opportunity for you to focus on a common cause and make a positive impact as active members of your community!
