Honors Student Groups
Honors Ambassadors
Honors Ambassadors help with program recruiting efforts during the course of each academic year by serving as hosts for campus visitors and panelists for Fall Open Houses and Spring Welcome Days. Students apply to be Honors Ambassadors.
Honors Mentors
Honors Mentors are upper-class student volunteers who serve as team teachers for Enhancing Honors 1101. In fall 2012, there will be sixty eight Honors Mentors. Students apply to be Honors Mentors
Honors Outreach Project
The Honors Outreach Project is the civic engagement arm of the Honors Program. All Honors students are welcome to join in any outreach project, including as group leaders for the fall outreach project during Welcome Week.
Honors First Pages Committee
Committee members help to select the book each year for the university-wide First Pages initiative. This year’s selection was Anne Patchett’s State of Wonder. There are four student members of the committee. Students are chosen to be members of the First Pages Committee.
Honors Readers
Honors Readers help to provide guidance to the Honors First Pages Committee by reading and evaluating each book nominated for the First Pages selection. Students volunteer to be Honors Readers
Honors Book Club
Honors Book Club meets regularly each semester to discuss books chosen by book club members. The book club is open to any student.
Honors Welcome Week Volunteers
Honors Welcome Week Volunteers are upper-class students in the Program that help to facilitate the Welcome Week programming for First-year students. Students volunteer to participate in Welcome Week activities.
