Electronics for Scientists

Physics PHYS 2371/2372
Don Heiman, Northeastern University

The "physics" component of electronics is both interesting and useful. Semiconductor devices require quantum mechanics for a proper explanation of their behavior, but many things can be understood using some basic principles of electricity. The course introduces the latest technology of semiconductors and optical electronics.

Advanced Physics Lab

Physics PHYS 3600
Don Heiman, Northeastern University

Experiments in the Advanced Physics Lab course are substantially different from those in introductory physics laboratory courses -- they go beyond the simple demonstration of basic physical principles. More advanced physics concepts will be explored by in-depth analysis of the data.
