In addition to your academic and research pursuits, graduate students are encouraged to take advantage of all a large University has to offer. Attend lectures, athletic events, activities outside your academic program, or get involved in student led organizations.
The Graduate Student Government (GSG) is the official liaison between graduate students and the University Faculty and Administration and the avenue for graduate students to influence change in the educational programs, processes, and the administrative management of the University. They have the authority to distribute funds from the Graduate Student Activity Fee to eligible graduate students and eligible graduate student organizations.
The Graduate Student Government holds open monthly meetings! Graduate students are eligible to become a GSG Senator and become a voting member. Major functions of the GSG are:
- Individual Funding – The GSG will provide funding to graduate students up to $375 per academic year for conference, competition, or other activity expenses, including registration fees, travel and lodging.
- Student Group Funding – GSG will provide funding, up to $3,000 per year, to recognized graduate student organizations for programs, events and activities.
