Tayloe Washburn, Regional Dean & CEO


Tayloe Washburn, a prominent lawyer and civic leader in Seattle, is the founding dean and executive officer of the Seattle graduate campus. Tayloe, a former chair of the Seattle Metropolitan Chamber of Commerce, is experienced in building partnerships between the public and private sectors. He has long advocated for expanded educational opportunities in Seattle to prepare the region’s workforce for the needs of the 21st century economy. A nationally recognized attorney, he holds a law degree from the University of Washington, as well as a master’s degree in education and a bachelor’s degree in history, both from Stanford University.

Angela Walmsley

Angela L.E. Walmsley, Associate Dean


Dr. Angela L.E. Walmsley is the Associate Dean at the Seattle Graduate Campus.  She has been working in the field of education for approximately twenty years.  Dr. Walmsley holds a Bachelor of Science in Mathematics from the University of Illinois, a Master in Education and Diploma in Statistics from Trinity College Dublin, and a Doctorate of Philosophy in Education from Saint Louis University.   She has taught middle school and high school mathematics both in the United States and the United Kingdom; and she has taught general education and mathematics education courses and research methods courses at the undergraduate and graduate level at two universities in the Saint Louis area.  Prior to joining Northeastern University, she served as the Associate Dean for Graduate Education and Research in the College of Education and Public Service at Saint Louis University.  In addition, Dr. Walmsley mentored both undergraduate and graduate students regarding teaching and research, directing multiple dissertations and theses. Dr. Walmsley has authored five books and approximately twenty-five articles.

Stephanie Pure, Senior Director, Community & Business Relations


Under the direction of the Regional Dean, Stephanie’s role is to initiate new relationships and broaden existing relationships with corporate, nonprofit, association, and governmental partners, as well as serve as marketing liaison and assist the Dean with the development and implementation of marketing strategies.

Prior to joining Northeastern University—Seattle, Stephanie Pure was the External Relations Director at AIA Seattle, the seventh largest urban chapter of the American Institute of Architects, where she focused on marketing, sponsorship, and public affairs. Her background also includes serving as longtime Legislative Aide and policy advisor to former Seattle City Council member Peter Steinbrueck FAIA. She is a Puget Sound Business Journal’s “40 Under 40” Honoree, as well as a 2011 graduate of Leadership Tomorrow. Stephanie earned her degree in Political Science at the University of Washington (B.A.’96).

Gina Takasugi, Assistant Director, Admissions Recruitment & Student Services


Gina Takasugi serves as the Assistant Director of Admissions Recruitment and Student Services for the Seattle graduate campus. She acts as an initial point of contact for prospective students, guiding them through application and enrollment processes, and assisting in all aspects through to commencement. Recent career experiences have revolved around early childhood education with earlier involvement in teaching English as a foreign language. She holds a BS in Psychology from Santa Clara University and an MA in Comparative Education from University of London’s Institute of Education.

Anne Maria Jacobson, Administrative Operations Manager


Anne Maria Jacobson is the Administrative Operations Manager for the Seattle Graduate Campus. In this role she works closely with the Seattle team to assist in fulfilling their objectives, keeps the campus running seamlessly and supports Dean & CEO Tayloe Washburn. She holds a Masters of Fine Arts from the University of Connecticut and a Bachelors of Business Administration from Southern Utah University.

Prior to joining the Seattle Graduate Campus Team, Anne Maria was the Board Administrator and Special Projects Manager for nine years at the Seattle Metropolitan Chamber of Commerce. She has also had the good fortune to work for the 2002 Winter Olympics and Jim Henson Productions.

Claire Lewis, Admissions Recruiter


Claire is the Admissions Recruiter for the Northeastern Seattle campus and works closely with recruiters on the Boston and Charlotte campuses as well. Claire attends, organizes, and executes various recruitment events, including college fairs, open houses, on-line webinars and chats, as well as develops partnerships with other colleges and universities, organizations, and companies.  Previously she worked for other Higher Education institutions such as Bentley University and Tufts University but was inspired to become part of the Northeastern team after receiving her Masters in Education from Northeastern’s College of Professional Studies in Winter 2012!

Andrew Rota, Marketing and Social Media Manager

Andrew Rota is the Social Media Manager for the Seattle Graduate Campus. In this role he oversees all of the campus’s social media accounts and maintains and updates the campus website.

Originally from the scenic Berkshire Hills region of Massachusetts, Andrew moved to Boston in 2010 to attend Northeastern.  He is currently pursuing a Bachelors of Science in Business Administration with a concentration in Marketing. He recently added a minor in Art + Design to incorporate a little more creativity to his schedule.

He completed his first Coop working in Merchandising at Wayfair.com, a home supply company headquartered in Boston.

He recently moved to Seattle to work at the Graduate campus here as the Marketing/ Social Media Manager. He will be living in the Capitol Hill neighborhood. He is already enjoying the vibrant and unique environment that Seattle has to offer. It is an interesting change compared to a more classic and historic Boston culture.


Cynthia Gergi, Administrative Coordinator


Cynthia Gergi is the Administrative Coordinator for the Seattle Graduate Campus. Her main role is assisting the Dean & CEO Tayloe Washburn. She also performs a variety of other administrative tasks. Cynthia has a background in Higher Education from her home country Sweden. In her previous position as Admissions Coordinator, at Kristianstad University, Sweden, she worked with International Students focusing on foreign credentials evaluation, student advising, and application support. She has a master’s degree in Political Science from Linkoping University, in Sweden, and came to Seattle for the first time on a scholarship to the UW. She enjoys living in Seattle and her job at Northeastern – Seattle campus.


Trina Murphy, Campus Assistant


Trina Murphy joined Northeastern University – Seattle because of a passion for education and exposure to the multi-cultural students. She has worked and studied abroad in Europe and enjoys discussing her travel stories. She has had the good fortune to visit much of the European, South American, Australian and African continents as well as journeyed to Antarctica, Southeast Asia, New Zealand, Russia, the Middle East and most of Central America. Although her formative years started near Chicago, continued with a BA from Indiana University in Telecommunications and further studies at Boston University and Harvard; she left Boston when she discovered her love for Seattle. She hopes to make students’ experience at Northeastern University a wonderful one.

Jennifer Youngblood, Graduate Cooperative Education Coordinator


Jennifer is the faculty Graduate Cooperative Education Coordinator for the College of Computer and Information Science at Northeastern University – Seattle. Her background includes over 15 year in career counseling in higher education and private practice, as well as corporate HR. Jennifer has a BA and MA in History, a master’s certificate in Computer Programming, and MA coursework in Career Development. She is also MBTI Qualified and is a certified Distance Career Counselor.
