Last week was a busy, but productive week for the team at Northeastern University-Charlotte! Dr. Tristan Johnson and Dr. Sara Wadia-Fascetti, from the College of Engineering, flew down from Boston and joined Dr. Cheryl Richards and Pasquale Quintero, Jr. on several business development meetings. The meetings were with senior leaders from Intelligent Buildings, Marand Builders, UTC Aerospace Systems, CEM Corporation, Rodgers Builders, Time Warner Cable, Westinghouse Electric Company, Snyder’s Lance, and E4 Carolinas.
During the meetings, Dr. Wadia-Fascetti and Dr. Tristan Johnson spoke to the high quality research the College of Engineering is conducting as well as the innovative and rigorous graduate programs offered in Boston, Charlotte and Seattle. Discussions around co-op were very impactful as many of the companies expressed interest in hiring Northeastern University undergraduate and graduate co-ops.
The week ended with Northeastern University-Charlotte sponsoring and exhibiting at the Charlotte Chamber’s Energy Summit. The Energy Summit featured Christine Todd Whitman, former governor of the state of New Jersey and former EPA administrator under President George W. Bush. Whitman currently co-chairs the Clean and Safe Energy Coalition.
