Program Description

There is a huge and continuing increase in the circulation of media in our society and subsequently a significant interest in the advanced study of media, communication, and culture. This MA program offers local, national and international students the opportunity to broaden their knowledge and professional resources in an exciting and innovative intellectual environment. The program is specifically conceived in response to a current and projected need for citizens with critical perspectives on the relations between and among media, the public and cultural meaning. The program is taught by the department’s acknowledged research-focused faculty. The Master's of Arts program in Communication, Media and Cultural Studies adheres to Northeastern’s academic mandate of rigorous theoretical inquiry that remains responsive to students' intellectual interests and to ongoing transitions in various media-related fields that converge with Northeastern's educational ideals.
