Joanne began her engineering life at Northeastern University. As an Electrical Engineering undergrad, she worked her Co-Op with Raytheon Missiles Systems where she became skilled in RF/Microwave low-noise synthesis design and test. She received her BSEE from NU, was awarded a Raytheon full-time graduate scholarship, and received a Master’s Degree in Microwave Engineering from Tufts University.
After 13 years with Raytheon, Joanne worked in low-noise RF/MW and test instrumentation and became a strong RF/MW Systems Applications Engineer with Hewlett-Packard/Agilent (now Keysight). She’s developed and taught many training seminars worldwide in RF/MW, phase-noise, digital communications and radar. With Agilent, Joanne learned sales and marketing, and joined Northeastern University’s High-Technology Masters of Business Program where she received a High-Tech MBA.
Joanne has managed technical marketing with a set-top box software start-up company, consulting with Agilent, as well as Strategic Marketing for Analog Devices’ High-Speed Converters before returning to defense with Lockheed Martin.
At Lockheed Martin, Joanne managed Business Development for RF/MW technologies and also became a certified Lean Six Sigma Black Belt practitioner, facilitator and instructor across the corporation. As a corporate sponsor of the Gordon Engineering Leadership program, Lockheed Martin allowed Joanne to participate as a guest lecturer and a Gordon Mentor.
