On Thursday, February 20th, our Distinguished Speaker will be John Harker, President of microPEP.

John Harker is President of microPEP (, a business unit of Precision Engineered Products (  He has been with microPEP for over twenty years, the last fourteen as president.  Since that time, along with his PEP colleagues, they have grown their businesses from $80 million to just over $250 million, today.  John has been married for thirty two years to Betsy, a Rhode Island native.  Together they have two children, a son-in-law and, happily in 2013, their first grandchild, Tripp.

John is a graduate of Gettysburg College (BA), The College of William and Mary (MBA) and has served actively as a reserve officer in the US Army with the 25th Infantry Division.  He is a past board president of Hattie Ide Chaffee, a non-profit nursing home in East Providence, Rhode Island and is the current board president of St. Andrew’s School, an non-profit independent school in Barrington, Rhode Island.

His hobbies include offshore fishing, tinkering with things mechanical and, from time-to-time, demonstrating a glimmer of talent on the tennis court and golf course.
