The National Academy of Engineering Bernard M. Gordon Prize for 2015 awarded to Simon Pitts and Michael B. Silevitch

The Gordon Prize was established in 2001 recognizing new modalities and experiments in education that develop effective engineering leaders. Founded in 1964, the U.S. National Academy of Engineering is a private, independent, nonprofit institution that provides engineering leadership in service to the nation. Its mission is to advance the well-being of the nation by promoting a vibrant engineering profession and by marshalling the expertise and insights of eminent engineers to provide independent advice to the federal government on matters involving engineering and technology.

The Gordon Engineering Leadership Program

at Northeastern University (GEL) is a transformational graduate curriculum offered through the College of Engineering. Each year, a select number of highly qualified Candidates pursue GEL as part of a Master of Science degree in a range of engineering disciplines or as a standalone Certificate in Engineering Leadership. Graduates of the program, known as Gordon Fellows, emerge with the capabilities and confidence to lead the engineering breakthroughs of tomorrow.
