Develop a health information brochure using guidelines suggested by readings and web resources that would maximize an older adult's ability to read and understand the health information.
Evaluate an existing piece of health information according to the SAM (See Tools section above). What issues did you uncover about the usability of the material for older adults and how can it be improved?
With appropriate permissions, administer the TOFHLA (see Tools section above) to three patients and evaluate the differences in their respective abilities to comprehend information. Reflect on any differences found or why there were or were not any differences.
Develop a script of a scenario between you and an older adult that reflects poor communication. Please pick a scenario that is a typical situation someone in your health profession might be in. Explain why you think it reflects poor communication and how you might improve it.
