Aging In America
In the US today aging policy and geriatric clinical practice have a reciprocal relationship. Aging policy informs geriatric clinical practice and in turn practice informs policy. The use of accurate and current data provides evidence for action in both the policy and clinical arenas.
Growing old in America, transports the elderly adult into an evolving culture. As the large number of "baby boomers" grow old in years, we will see the culture evolve even more. That is the attitudes, values, goals, and practices attributed to older persons in our society will change.
