Northeastern students span the globe and contribute to solving many of today’s most challenging problems. Students need to be as comfortable in Beijing and San Pablo as they are in Boston and Los Angeles. Global experiences give Northeastern students the opportunity to live and learn in different cultures, immersing themselves in new approaches and generating new ideas to solve complex issues.

Global Experience Office (GEO) International Experience Grants support outstanding students seeking study abroad and faculty led global experiences (DOC & Spring Break Embedded Programs). Through competitively awarded grants, this program encourages and enables students to take advantage of all that Northeastern has to offer.

GEO provides up to 60 students annually with the financial means to participate in global experiences. Grants range in size from $2,000 to $3,000 and will be awarded to NU students before they incur any charges for their global experience. In this way, students will know if they can count on additional financial support for their global endeavors. Selected students will be required to complete a short survey of their study abroad experience.

All applicants must exhibit exceptional leadership qualities and be eligible for the program they are applying to. They must also demonstrate an understanding of the relevance and importance of their chosen experience to their educational pursuit, personal development, and career goals.
