Game Artificial Intelligence is an undergraduate and graduate level course offered through computer science. It teaches techniques for NPC behaviors and procedural content generation. The class is currently being run as a discussion and activity-based class, with assignments built around existing Game AI frameworks.
Position Description: I am seeking a student to help develop new frameworks for lightweight, in-class activities to effectively teach game AI. This would constitute creating an extendable game using Java (most likely in the Processing environment) that students can pick up and tinker with during class, and potentially extend even further outside of class. I would prefer a student who has already taken either Game AI or Foundations of AI; however, this is not required. Some prior experience programming games would be beneficial. Programming experience is required.
