Parents Fund
Most of Northeastern students receive some kind of financial assistance for their education. Tuition covers just 80 percent of the cost of educating each Northeastern student; the remainder must come from other sources.
Gifts to The Parents Fund support vital aspects of the undergraduate program, including scholarships, academic innovations, student activities, and residential life. Every gift to The Parents Fund, no matter the amount, makes a difference to our undergraduates. The Parents Fund supports the following six areas:
- Student’s College
- Athletics
- Area of Greatest Need
- Student Life
- Financial Aid
- Libraries

Athletics
Northeastern University is committed to providing its student-athletes with the best academic and athletic experiences by raising funds for scholarships and athletic and recreational facilities, and by encouraging volunteer and fan involvement.
Your support of a specific sports team or the Athletic Director's Fund will enable our young men and women to compete at the highest level. In turn, the achievements of our teams instill pride and bring recognition to Northeastern University.
Area of Greatest Need
Gifts to this area support the general operation and needs of Northeastern University. Every day, monies are taken from this fund to support important initiatives and projects, as well as emergency needs.
Student Life
Gifts to this area enhance student life at Northeastern University and contribute to every student’s fond memories of the University.
Financial Aid
Gifts to scholarship provides Northeastern University's undergraduates with increasingly necessary financial assistance throughout their tenure at the University.
Unfortunately, the University is unable to offer aid to all admitted students who have calculated need, or to fully fund the need of all students offered aid. Gifts to this area will help ensure that the best and brightest are given the opportunity to attend Northeastern University.
Libraries
Snell Library, the central research and study library on campus, as well as the other campus libraries, provide a rich array of resources in print, electronic, and microform format for the university's students.
Gifts to the Libraries can be designated to support specific areas such as Collections, Digital Resources and Technology, the Dean's Innovation Fund, and various endowed funds.
