Last month, NEFAC joined with National Freedom of Information Coalition and 44 other organizations to raise the alarm against certain proposed provisions which would exempt from disclosure basic information about agricultural and livestock operations, including information that individuals living or sharing a waterway with “concentrated animal feeding operations” (or CAFOs) urgently need to protect and advocate for their environment and the health of members of their communities.
The New England First Amendment Coalition is seeking applications for a pair of annual awards to recognize both private citizens and professional journalists who aggressively advance the people’s knowledge of what government is doing – or failing to do – on their behalf.
Until December 27, we will be accepting contributions through Indiegogo to help grow our New England First Amendment Institute. Our goal is to raise $10,000. This money will help us better educate journalists throughout the region and improve the institute’s programming. With just about a month remaining in our campaign, we are nearly one-fifth of the way there.
NEFAC has launched its first crowdfunding effort on the Indiegogo website to advance our cause of offering high quality training to New England journalists.
