Scholarship of the Month
For the month of March, we have THREE different scholarships available to currently enrolled Undergraduate students:
- The Michael Doherty Memorial Scholarship was created in memory of Michael Doherty, a white 19 year old from Boston who was killed defending a black man from a gang of white youths during an altercation on the MBTA in 1980. Awards will be given to two male first-year students from the Boston area. Two awards of $3,000 are available. To apply, you must submit a statement (one page maximum) discussing the importance of interracial understanding. In addition, you should complete the Scholarship of the Month Application and submit it to the Office of Student Financial Services. Eligible students must demonstrate financial need as determined by Student Financial Services.
- The Class of 1994 Senior Challenge Scholarship is available for 5th year Seniors who have financial need, as determined by the Office of Student Financial Services. In addition to the Endowed Scholarship Application, interested applicants should write a short essay (1 page) describing how the scholarship would help them. Two $1,000 scholarships are available.
