Rush Orders

We require a two-week lead-time on most sign orders, including A-frames and banners. Orders requiring routed technology usually take longer, as the Sign Shop only has one router to serve the entire university and all of its satellite campuses. However, for most short-term signs, two weeks gives us sufficient time to ensure completion. This means that for a dated event, you must order your signs two weeks prior to the day you want them to appear on campus. For example, if you want to order signs for an event on January 21, but you want the signs out a week ahead of time to advertise the event (the 14th), then you would need to order your signs on January 1st, which is two weeks prior to the day you want the signs out on campus.

Orders placed less than two weeks prior to your desired due date are considered “rush jobs” and will be charged accordingly. We will do our best to accommodate your rush order provided we have the time, staff and materials available to do so.

Please refer to our Price List on the Payment Info page for details on rush fees.

Artwork & Logos
In addition to an order form, we ask you to provide any artwork you require on your signs. You may include a layout you have already designed, or you can leave the design to us.  Our staff is full of trained and in-training graphic designers. If you do not have a specific layout in mind, you can still include any color or font preferences you may have and we would be happy to put together drafts.

If you have a logo or other artwork you would like to incorporate into your signs, you can send the file(s) to us via email or on a flash drive. We prefer vector-based file types (.ai, .eps and/or .pdf). Any files that require reconfiguring and/or clean-up on our end may incur an additional fee.

* If the logo is a photo, includes shading, or has any other graphic effects and is not a monochromatic image, then we will print this logo using our CMYK printing machine. Because we are using four-color process printing, this method is a bit more expensive. It costs $20 per square foot each time it is printed.

The file types we can use here are much more varied and include any file you can open in Adobe Photoshop.

* For logo files of this type, the higher resolution the image file, the better. Our sign program is vector based, so its image printing capabilities are less than state-of-the-art. Avoid .jpg or .gif files. They will not print well with our software as they are compressed file types designed for the web and lack detail.
