Northeastern University Project Controls promotes best practices regarding cost control, schedule management and document management to ensure University resources are being effectively managed and client objectives are achieved in the delivery of capital projects. The project management system, ” e-Builder”, has been implemented for the management of all capital projects at the University. The use of this application provides Northeastern University project stakeholders with timely and accurate project information that can be used to make important decisions necessary for the successful delivery of capital projects. The e-Builder application is designed to create a collaborative and transparent environment where project stakeholders can access and share project information.
All entities working on capital projects at the University are required to utilize e-Builder to deliver the project. The University will provide training and all user licenses required for project participants. Upon issuance of a user account and required training, e-Builder may be accessed at http://www.e-builder.net/.
Because Northeastern utilizes the project management system, “e-Builder”, to deliver capital projects for university clients and because its use is required of all vendors that provide services for capital projects, we are offering e-Builder Express Training sessions for all members of project teams. These sessions have been developed to streamline training for project participants in e-Builder and have been designed to run only 60 minutes long (with 30 minutes at the end of the training reserved for questions). Currently, training is offered twice a week: every Tuesday from 8:30-9:30am (with time for any additional questions from 9:30-10:00 am), as well as every Thursday, from 2:00-3:00pm (with time for any additional questions from 3:00-3:30pm).
This link will take you to the current schedule. e-Builder Express Training Program
In order to participate in these training sessions, reservations are required. Please note you must currently be working on an active university capital project and must have an e-Builder username and password that gets you access to your project. In order to gain access, please contact the Northeastern Project Manager assigned to your project. Please send all training inquiries to Projectcontrol@neu.edu and/or to reserve your space for an upcoming training session.
The e-Builder Lab provides current project participants with an opportunity to receive technical assistance in the use of e-Builder, Northeastern University processes, and to ask questions related to project delivery. The e-Builder Lab is open every Wednesday from 2:00pm-4:00pm in Cullinane Hall located at 288 St. Botolph Street, Boston, MA. No reservations are required, so please feel free to drop by with any questions you may have.
