Northeastern understands that being a good neighbor requires extensive, active involvement in the community. To that end, the University has developed more than 80 programs to meet the needs of our city and region, covering a wide range of services and benefiting kindergarteners through retirees.
Many of the University's community-focused initiatives offer students opportunities to work closely with our neighbors, with a focus on four broad areas of urban engagement: education, economic development, health and recreation, and public safety.
These Community Engagement programs offer undergraduates and graduate and professional students unique opportunities to use the knowledge they've gained at Northeastern. For example, engineering students design and build community projects, speech-language pathology students improve childhood literacy, and law students conduct pre-trial conferences to expedite pending court cases.
