Co-op (short for "cooperative education") is at the heart of a Northeastern education, providing our students with the opportunity to integrate their classroom studies with up to 18 months of professional work experience in positions related to their academic or career interests.

Many schools offer work-based programs, but not like ours. Northeastern is the national leader in cooperative education. We offer co-op in every major, with opportunities to work for more than 2,000 companies and organizations in Boston, across the country, and around the world. Co-op is integrated into our curriculum, our scheduling, and our advising system.

Northeastern alumni consistently credit co-op for their success, often describing it as the defining experience of their undergraduate years.
