Co-op
Co-op (short for "cooperative education") makes a Northeastern education richer and more meaningful, providing students with experiences at home and abroad that help them develop the knowledge, awareness, perspective, and confidence to transform their lives.
Our co-op program, which is currently celebrating its 100th Anniversary, is the largest in the country and one of the most innovative in the world — involving 6,000 students annually and more than 2,000 co-op locations in the U.S. and 40 cities internationally. Students gain up to 18 months (up to three, six-month co-ops) of full-time, professional employment experience related to their major or career interest in business, health care, education, engineering and technology, the visual and performing arts, and public policy.
For the last one hundred years, partnerships with employers from a variety of industries have been a defining characteristic of the Northeastern experience. Our co-op program offers you a talented pool of motivated, creative, committed, and educated young men and women who can help meet and often exceed your human resource needs, both as co-ops and as potential full-time employees, after they graduate. Nearly two-thirds of our graduates are offered a full-time position by a former co-op employer.
