The 2011 Northeastern University Workshop in Applied Philosophy will be held from September 30th – October 2nd at Northeastern University in Boston. The topic will be “Ethical issues in Engineering Biological and Ecological Systems.”

The Institute is excited to welcome Serena Parekh to the Department of Philosophy and Religion as well as the Ethics Institute. Serena’s research focuses on issues of human rights and global justice.

Steve Nathanson was recently awarded an Excellence in Research Award from Northeastern. In addition, Steve’s recent book, Terrorism and the Ethics of War, was named the outstanding book in social philosophy in 2010

Patricia Illingworth’s new collection (co-edited with Thomas Pogge and Leif Wenar) on ethics and philanthropy is now available from Oxford University Press.
