Sophie Bacq

Assistant Professor of Entrepreneurship & Innovation

Professor Bacq’s primary research interests include social entrepreneurship, governance and management issues in hybrid organizations, as well as international new ventures. Her teaching experience covers entrepreneurship, corporate strategy, and social entrepreneurship, including field trip experience.

Prior to joining Northeastern University, Professor Bacq was a Visiting Scholar at New York University Stern School of Business from August 2010 to August 2012. She has also held positions as a doctoral research fellow at the Intercollegiate Center for Management Science from 2009 to 2012 and as a teaching and research assistant at the Université Catholique de Louvain from 2006 to 2009.

Professor Bacq served as a co-director for the 9th and 10th annual NYU Stern Conference on Social Entrepreneurship in New York in 2012 and 2013.

Professor Bacq serves as an ad hoc reviewer for the Journal of Social Entrepreneurship, Family Business Review, and “Revue Internationale PME.
