Startup Challenge

Do you have an idea that could change the world?  Whether it’s a new online pet rental service, bathroom cleaning robot, or the next cure for smelly feet the Husky Startup Challenge (HSC) is here to help turn your idea into a company.

Through a series of bootcamps, workshops, networking events and a final “demo day” participants will get support to finish the program with a functioning business and plans to grow.  To top it all off, at demo day, $3,000 in cash prizes will be awarded to the top teams to accelerate their business growth!  The HSC is a significant improvement on the typical business plan competition because we force students to get out of the classroom by putting knowledge to practice by starting a company.

Don’t have an idea but want to work with an HSC company during the program? Not a problem! We are also encouraging student to apply as “free-agents” to bring their skills to the table and help one (or more than one) of the companies to build their businesses. Click here to apply as a “free-agent”!

The schedule for this semester’s HSC is:

  • Application Deadline: Friday, February 3 at Midnight
  • Finalists Notified: Thursday, February 9
  • Workshop 1 – Accelerating your Ideas: Saturday, February 18
  • Workshop 2 – Market Analysis: Saturday, February 25
  • Workshop 3 – Product/Service Design and Marketing: Saturday, March 17
  • Workshop 4 – Business Model and Financials: Saturday, March 31
  • Demo Day: TBA

This year’s HSC is bound to be an amazing experience allowing students to not only learn about starting a venture but actually doing it!
