The Who Says I Can’t

The Who Says I Can’t Foundation is seeking an intern to work 10-12 hours per week to develop and to grow the organization. It is an excellent opportunity for students seeking an entrepreneurial experience while also helping others. Who Says I Can’t is a charity addressing the psychological and physical impacts of having a disability by focusing on the restoration of self-esteem.

Specific responsibilities will include:

  • Develop visibility and awareness for the foundation’s existence (for example, using social media)
  • Research and prospect large donors and sustaining donors who want to make annual contributions (research foundations in the area and apply for grants)
  • Develop and maintain relationships with corporate sponsors
  • Establish policies and procedures (for example, how people apply for grants)
  • Social media experience – Twitter, Facebook, Instagram, etc.
  • Strong English language skills – written and verbal
  • An interest in writing – blogging, content development
  • Sales and/or fundraising experience – you love meeting and talking to people!
  • A passion for helping people
The hired student will be paid between $15-$20 per hour with a commitment of 10-12 hours per week.

We're looking for someone who is driven, motivated, hard-working, and loves a challenge that can come in and hit the ground running.

You will be working in our Boston office for the rest of the summer using your creativity to create valuable connections and relationships for our company. Use your puzzle-solving skills to look for ways to reach out to mobile app developers all over the world. After a rapport has been built, you will be able to sit in and participate on business calls between them and our COO directly seeing the effect and progressive result of your work.

Being a startup, we also provide you with the opportunity to wear several hats and get involved in other areas such as writing blog posts, email marketing, and social media.

Must be organized, detail oriented, and a problem solver. Needs to have extraordinary written communication skills.

    Launched at TechCrunch Disrupt’s Startup Battlefield, Kwoller is making mobile commerce fun and addictive. There are some that might call us the “Tinder of Shopping.”

    We are a fast growing company that aims to fix the boring and sad state of mobile commerce as it exists today. Kwoller strips out all the unnecessary clutter found in today’s mobile shopping experiences to create something that people actually have fun shopping with.

    Job Description:

    As a Community Manager intern you will have essentially free reign to get as many users on Kwoller as you can. You will manage the lifecycle of users from awareness, to acquisition, through retention, and reengagement as needed.

    For qualified and interested candidates, this summer role will transition into an academic year role as “Campus Ambassador” of your college, where you will continue to build out the Kwoller community at your school.

    Skills and Requirements:

    You are:
    • A hustler through and through. When people say “you can’t do that” you prove them wrong. Every time.
    • Way more digitally savvy than your friends, but not in a nerdy way (or maybe just a bit in a nerdy way)
    • Wittier than your friends
    • Great at getting someone to agree with you
    • Obsessed with fashion
    • Obsessed with deals
    • Opinionated, but flexible (no freeriders/ dogmatists on this team)
    • Super creative and fun to be around

    You have:
    • Active accounts on multiple social media platforms (insta, twitter, fb, tumblr, vine, wanelo, etc.)
    • Experience blogging, managing email lists, organizing events

    And maybe even:
    • Previous startup experience
    • Previous retail/ ecommerce experience
