“A student may transfer up to nine semester hours of his or her program using credits from another institution, provided that the credits transferred consist of a grade of B (3.000) or better in graduate-level courses, have been earned at a U.S. accredited institution, and have not been used towards any other degree. As courses at other institutions may not parallel courses at Northeastern, the student’s academic department will determine the number of semester hours the external course will be worth.” – Graduate School General Regulations .
If your course meets the criteria above, complete the transfer credit request form and send it to the department, along with an official transcript. After the request is reviewed by the Graduate Coordinator, the Director of Student Services of the Graduate School of Arts and Sciences will review the request for final approval.
Be mindful of time limits. See the General Regulations booklet for information on transfer credit time limits, and visit the Graduate School website for commencement deadlines.
