Transferring Credit

“A student may transfer up to nine semester hours of his or her program using credits from another institution, provided that the credits transferred consist of a grade of B (3.000) or better in graduate-level courses, have been earned at a U.S. accredited institution, and have not been used towards any other degree. As courses at other institutions may not parallel courses at Northeastern, the student’s academic department will determine the number of semester hours the external course will be worth.” – Graduate School General Regulations

If your course meets the criteria above, complete the transfer credit request form and submit it to the Graduate Office, along with an official transcript. The transfer request must be approved by both the Graduate Coordinator and the Graduate School of the College of Social Sciences and Humanities.

Be mindful of time limits. See the General Regulations booklet for information on transfer credit time limits, and visit the Graduate School website for commencement deadlines.
