Linda Allen was appointed the university’s fourth registrar in August 1998. She also serves as chair of Northeastern’s commencement committee.
Allen joined the university in 1971 after completing her undergraduate degree at the University of Massachusetts-Amherst. After serving a short stint as an administrative assistant, she began her professional career as a college administrator. In 1975, she became registrar for graduate programs; a few years later, she assumed registrar responsibility for the law school.
Allen is a member of American Association of Collegiate Registrars and Admissions Officers and the New England Association of Collegiate Registrars and Admissions Officers. She has served on a number of regional committees and presented at regional conferences.
Allen earned a master’s in education from Northeastern in 1976.
