Groups

At Northeastern, many students actively participate in organizations dedicated to the sustainability of the environment. This gives students outside of the Environmental Studies program a chance to make a difference. Even the dining halls of NU help to keep the carbon emissions down.

HEAT
Husky Energy Action Team (HEAT) is a student group working towards environmental sustainability and carbon neutrality at Northeastern University. By collaborating with faculty, staff, university administration, and other student groups, HEAT works to establish sustainability initiatives at Northeastern. Examples of what HEAT does include bringing speakers to campus such as Bill Nye the Science Guy and promoting responsible waste practices through Peer Composting. HEAT also seeks to educate the Northeastern community through awareness events that bring to light issues such as water scarcity and pollution, local food, and energy conservation. By educating the Northeastern community to make responsible, sustainable choices every day, HEAT is creating a greener campus.

In addition to their group site, please see HEAT’s Facebook page for more information.
