Northeastern University has announced that Dr. Carol Glod, APRN, PhD, FAAN, research director and professor of nursing, has received a federal traineeship grant in the amount of $625,000 from the Health Resources and Services Administration (HRSA) to expand the university's graduate child psychiatric nursing program. Aiming to help eliminate the severe shortage of nurses for underserved populations, the three-year project will prepare advanced practice registered nurses (APRNs) in child and adolescent psychiatric nursing to provide culturally competent care to vulnerable children, adolescents and their families with acute and chronic mental illness.
