The Northeastern University Jewish Studies Program provides students with the opportunity to explore the history, culture, and religion of the Jewish people, with a focus on modern Jewish life and thought.
An interdisciplinary program within the College of Arts and Sciences, Jewish Studies offers courses in the fields of religion, history, literature, Hebrew language, music, cinema studies, African-American studies, political science, and sociology.
In addition to offering a Dual Major in Jewish Studies and Religion and a Jewish Studies Minor, the Program also sponsors frequent public lectures, faculty seminars, performances, and exhibitions.
Among the Program's highlights are a cooperative relationship with Hebrew College in Newton, MA; a partnership with Northeastern's Human Services major; and the Jewish Studies Module, a unique course linking Jewish Studies to each student's major field of study.
