One-on-one hands-on workshops to Enhance your Teaching

January 2011

This semester the EdTech Center is offering flexible, one-on-one workshops, at the times you choose. Call ahead to let us know when you are coming and our co-op students will offer a one-on-one session for you (and a colleague if you wish) on a variety of topics aimed at helping you enhance your teaching. We’ll focus on a different topic each week. Join us to explore these new technologies and learn how to do the following:

  • Upload your videos to Youtube and embed them in your Blackboard course or website.
  • Upload your Powerpoint presentation to Slideshare and add audio. Then you can embed the slideshare presentation in your Blackboard course or website.
  • Develop an online form and keep track of the answers in one spreadsheet with Google forms.
  • Create a Word document, spreadsheet or presentation in Google docs so you can share it with others.
  • Use Jing to instantly create short screencasts (movies of what you do on the computer screen) or take screenshots (pictures of your computer screen).
  • Develop a stunning, non-linear presentation with Prezi

We can also develop a custom workshop related to these topics for a group of faculty colleagues. Just give us a call at 617-373-3157 for details.

In addition to offering the one-on-one hands on workshops this semester, we also invite you to stop by the EdTech Center’s SmartBar (215 SL) between 8 a.m. and 5 p.m. Monday – Friday to explore a variety of self-paced tutorials with assistance from our co-op students. See the "How Do I" section of our website for more information.
