Second Life for Architectural Planning: A Case Study

The EdTech Center has worked with University architects and academic partners to design space that will house the EdTech Center and Center for Innovation and Excellence in Teaching and Learning (CIETL). To test the design, multimedia designer, Seth Merriam built the space to scale, including furnishings, in the virtual world, Second Life (SL) and invited colleagues, both at our institution and others, to visit and make comments. Based on those comments (and our own experiences using the virtual space), we have made substantial changes to the design.
