Draw on Slides

The standard Microsoft drawing tools allow you to add shapes, lines, and text to slides.

These tools are especially useful for annotating graphics and other imported objects. If drawing tools are not visible when you open PowerPoint:

  1. Go to the View menu.
  2. Select Toolbars.
  3. Select Drawing.

The tools allow you to:

  • Create a line, arrow, rectangle, oval, or text.
  • Change the color of a the inside of a shape, a line, or text.
  • Change the width of a line or the direction of an arrow.
  • Add a drop shadow or make a shape three-dimensional.

Try it! Create a new slide using a template with only a title. Experiment with the drawing tools to see how each works.
