The Blackboard Test Manager allows you to create quizzes and tests in a wide range formats, many of which are graded automatically. A broad range of options for how the quiz or test is presented enable you to create formats that serve a range of purposes from self-assessment activities with feedback to timed mastery testing.
While it is not possible to replicate the security of face-to-face testing in a remote format, several features can be used to improve test security, including: randomizing questions and answers, forcing completion once a test is started, enforcing time limits, making the test available for a specific time period, and limiting feedback provided to the final score.
The Blackboard Grade Book allows students a private view of their grades. A column is automatically added to the Grade Book when you create a test or assignment item. Other types of assignment, tests, and even a category for participation can be added to the Grade Book manually. The Grade Book allows you to categorize and weight grades and enter grades in various formats, including scores and letter grades.
For safe keeping of grades, you can backup the Blackboard Grade Book by downloading it into an Excel spreadsheet.
