Dr. Penny Beuning is an Associate Professor in the Department of Chemistry and Chemical Biology, Northeastern University, who is experienced DNA damage recognition & tolerance.

Dr. Beuning seeks to understand cellular responses to DNA damage. All organisms experience damage to their genetic material from environmental and endogenous sources. Multiple biological systems exist to identify and remove damaged bases from DNA in organisms from bacteria to humans.
