Professor Barry Bluestone, founding director of the Dukakis Center for Urban and Regional Policy and founding dean of the School of Public Policy & Urban Affairs at Northeastern University, will be the keynote speaker at the MetroWest Chamber of Commerce Exec-Connect Luncheon on Thursday, Oct. 18. He will report on the state of manufacturing in Massachusetts and highlight the findings of the recently published “Staying Power II: A Report Card on Manufacturing in Massachusetts” produced by Northeastern’s Dukakis Center, and discuss key findings from the study which show that manufacturing remains the sixth largest industry employer in the state. He will also lead a discussion on how to best position the MetroWest region to accommodate the growth in this industry Those who would like to attend the noontime event at the Sheraton Framingham can register at www.metrowest.org.
