Marlborough: City awarded $5K Community Compact grant

Through the state’s Community Compact program, the city recently received a $5,000 grant to work with the Dukakis Center for Urban and Regional Policy to evaluate Marlborough’s economic competitiveness.

Established by the Baker/Polito administration, the Community Compact program is a statewide initiative enabling communities to implement best practices with the help of state funding and resources. More than 200 communities participate in the voluntary program, which puts them in a more competitive position for state grants.

One of the city’s best practices as part of the agreement it signed with the state in August is job creation and retention.
