Barry Bluestone on “Shaping The Future of Cape Cod”

According to the US Census, the population in Barnstable County is declining and the fastest losses are in the 25 to 44-age category.  Between 2000 and 2010 nearly fifteen Thousand young adults left the Cape, a decrease of 26.8%.

In 2013 the Cape Cod Young Professionals announced a new project called “Shape the Cape” to study the issue and come up with productive ways to keep the younger generation here.

Initial results from the study are in and Anne Van Vleck, executive director ofCCYP,  joins Mindy Todd in the studio us to discuss the data. On the phone Barry Bluestone, Founding Director of the Dukakis Center for Urban and Regional Policy at Northeastern University talks about how they administered the Shape the Cape Survey.
