Support the Center

Dukakis - Open Mic

At the Dukakis Center we seek to have an immediate and lasting impact on the quality of life in Greater Boston, the Commonwealth of Massachusetts, the nation, and beyond. We engage a wide range of stakeholders - faculty, policy makers, community and business leaders, students, and researchers - to develop effective solutions to our most pressing problems.

OPPORTUNITIES AND NEEDS

Most of our research/action projects and policy tools are supported through grants from foundations, government, corporations, and non-profit organizations. Recent and current examples include research and development of solutions in the following areas:

These major research efforts – often leading to changes in policy and the development of new legislation - are only the most visible of the many we take on each year. We work with mayors and town officials to improve municipal effectiveness; we are analyzing state and local tax policy to provide guidance on equitable methods to finance critical public services; and we are working on issues related to immigration and “New Bostonians.” We work with dozens of organizations to co-sponsor and host conferences and events ranging from workforce development to celebrations of our region’s diversity. And more.
We are always open to considering additional projects. Please contact us if you have an idea about an issue area or opportunity that the Dukakis Center should pursue.

In addition to grant supported projects, we seek more general philanthropic support from individuals, corporations, and foundations to help us build and expand our capacity. These gifts give us greater ability to pursue and engage in activities that are not yet specifically grant-funded.
