“The Color of Law” – Lives in Law and Policy

November 7 @ 12:00 pm - 3:00 pm
Join the School of Public Policy and Urban Affairs for a presentation by Richard Rothstein, a leading authority on housing policy, who will discuss his new book, The Color of Law (published in May 2017). In this history of the modern American metropolis, Rothstein argues that de jure segregation―the laws and policy decisions passed by local, state, and federal governments―promoted the discriminatory patterns that continue to this day.   The event is part of the School’s Lives in Law and Policy Speaker Series, which aims to provide opportunities for students, alumni, and members of the Northeastern community to hear and learn from leading figures in law and policy.   The event is co-sponsored by Northeastern University's School of Public Policy and Urban Affairs, the John O’Bryant African American Student Center, Northeastern's School of Law, and the Departments of Sociology and Political Science.
