Myra Kraft Open Classroom Series: “Issues in Global Food Security”

February 1 @ 6:00 pm - 8:00 pm
Welcome to Week 4 of the Myra Kraft Open Classroom for Spring 2017. We shift our attention momentarily from the more local and regional to the global – how do we adequately feed all the people of the world today, much less in the future? To guide us through some of the major issues and controversies are two of the nation’s leading experts in this area:
1. Robert Paarlberg, of the Harvard Kennedy School, will examine the broad trends in and future challenges to global food security.
2. Timothy Wise, of the Small Planet Institute, and author of, Feeding Illusions: Agribusiness, Family Farmers, and the Future of Food, will discuss challenges to small-scale agriculture in developing countries.
How might we feed a possible 9 billion people by 2050? Join us onFebruary 1 to find out. Free and open to the public. Follow our live tweets on Twitter using #OCNEU.
